Custom built record cabinets and modular systems
Custom solutions for serious collectors who want tailored record storage. These record cabinets are built to fit your space, collection size, and listening setup, making it easier to organize vinyl efficiently.
When is a custom record cabinet worth considering?
Custom LP furniture is useful when a standard cabinet does not fit the room, the collection has unusual capacity requirements or the audio setup needs specific equipment spaces. It can also solve practical details such as skirting boards, cable routes, angled walls and a preferred browsing height.
Which measurements are needed for custom vinyl storage?
Record the available width, height and depth, including skirting boards, sockets, doors and walking space. Add the exact dimensions of the turntable, amplifier and speakers, plus rear cable clearance and ventilation. The delivery route should be measured as carefully as the final position.
How is LP capacity calculated for a made-to-measure cabinet?
Capacity is based on the number and internal width of the record compartments, then adjusted for sleeve thickness and browsing room. Sinfonic’s angled compartments, for example, hold roughly 70–90 LPs each, while a collector with many box sets or gatefolds should plan more space per record.
What kinds of custom products are included in this collection?
The collection combines finished made-to-order furniture with adaptable handmade cabinets and a custom cutting plan for a DIY build. A cutting plan supplies panel dimensions rather than wood, hardware or a completed record cabinet, so the required woodworking work is substantially different.
Can I choose the wood, colour and internal layout?
Options depend on the maker, but custom work can include alternative woods, finishes, compartment counts and equipment spaces. Curtis is made in solid cherry, while Sinfonic can discuss different woods and rear-panel finishes. Confirm every choice in writing before production.
Can a custom order be changed after production has started?
Changes become difficult once panels have been cut or a cabinet has entered production. Review dimensions, equipment clearances, finish samples and LP capacity before approving the design. Made-to-order furniture may also have different cancellation and return conditions from stocked products.
Can a custom LP cabinet include both turntable and amplifier space?
Yes, provided the design accounts for a level turntable surface, amplifier ventilation, cable routes and shelf loads. Supply the precise component models or measurements rather than using general terms such as ‘standard amplifier’.
What is the difference between a custom cutting plan and a finished cabinet?
A cutting plan tells a local timber supplier or carpenter which panels to cut; materials, fixings, finishing and assembly remain the customer’s responsibility. A finished custom record cabinet is built and delivered by the maker, usually with a longer lead time and a higher degree of design support.
